Answer
this Driver Update is some sneakware by Microsoft that was installed on your computer without your direct permission when 'YOU INADVERTANTLY CLICKED ON THE VERY GENEROUS OFFER BY MICROSOFT TO UPDATE YOUR TOOLBARS, FAVOURITES ETC'. I got the Microsoft popup about grouping all my favourites together etc and the computer has been a nightmare since then. Microsoft is little better than any other virus builder. As for trying to uninstall Driver Update I have the same problem the rest of you have and cannot do it because Microsft intended it to reinstall each time we try to uninstall. In a month or so I'll junk this laptop and get a Chromebook and let Microsoft go to ****.

Hi CalSylFaust,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forums.
Based on the description, it appears that you would like to uninstall the driver update by slimware utilities. I will definitely help you in fixing this issue.
1) Do you receive any error message when trying to uninstall?
2) Is the issue confined to a specific application?
3) Are you referring to slimware utilities update or the application?
3) Have you made any changes on the computer prior to this issue?
Method 1: I would suggest you to follow the steps to uninstall the Slimware Utilities from the support link and check if it helps.
Method 2: I would also suggest you to run the Microsoft FIXIT from the link and check if it helps.
Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled
Method 3: If the issue persists, I would suggest you to contact Slimware Utilities support for further assistance.
Hope this helps. Try the above steps and get back to us for further assistance if you have any issues regarding Windows Operating System. We will be happy to help you.

Is this Slimware part of the Microsoft family ? What makes it not respond to me. I want to take it off but it stays right there. I dont like this. Is the service free? If not then its not behaving.

Sorry to hear that. I just ignore it now. I am hating how stupid Windows can be. My cd rom drive isnt well now. Seems I have an error (from where? duh! dont know) I wish Windows would zap something that we dont need as it would create a problem, but no, it lets it by. I thought a person had to be smart to invent Windows, but Im beginning to wonder. Lol. I guess there are worst things. Have a great day and thanks for the chat.

I used the Windows 8 Start Menu SEARCH and typed in file name.
Right Mouse clicked on File name/icon and selected search for location ( located at the lower left of screen).
File was displayed in another window.
Right Mouse clicked for option to delete.
Two files existed, so I had to do this for each.
Though I believe Slimware has been deleted, you never can tell with these types of files.
I don't trust anything anymore. Sad really. Computing used to be simple and fun. Now you have to do all kinds of stuff to feel safe.
